AI technology and legal philosophy

Why our AI technology aligns with our philosophy

With the ongoing evolution of AI, the growing discourse about its ethical use is relevant. AI is the bridge to all the answers we need; however, it can be misused in many ways. How about writing an essay at the last minute or solving questions for a math quiz? This concept may be the first thing one thinks of when considering AI use. What if legal professionals and technologists worked together to build legal AI to be used responsibly by society? That’s what we did here at Luri.

At its core, our philosophy rests on the belief that everyone deserves meaningful access, not just to information, but to understanding and empowerment. The mission of Luri is to make the law accessible, understandable, and actionable for everyone.

Because the law is often seen as complex, intimidating, and reserved for experts, we use AI to flatten that barrier. By combining advanced artificial intelligence with practical legal expertise, Luri provides efficient ways for students to interact with the legal field. In this way, the use of our technology to generate a case brief or grasp a procedural concept you might otherwise skip, users are not merely getting a convenience tool—they’re participating in a larger purpose: democratizing legal knowledge. Every student who can now access a well-structured brief, every layperson who can explore a legal pathway, is part of this vision.

Luri ensures that the use of AI is taught to law students in an ethical way. It allows our tools to be highly accessible. Case briefs are now within reach with a single search, and they provide simplified concepts. Luri’s BriefCase provides an accessible tutor available whenever needed. Legal research and writing are programmed to teach students how to read cases thoroughly. BriefCase is fast and highly accessible, with AI tutoring and note-taking features included in the monthly cost.

Unlike AI being used as a shortcut for last-minute homework, our approach is intentional: BriefCase is meant to augment human learning, not to replace the deep engagement one gains in the study of law. It helps to understand the rule, the reasoning, and the policy. It enables users to develop a lawyer-thinker mindset. As our philosophy states, “Law shouldn’t be intimidating or inaccessible.” Moreover, the accessibility we emphasize goes beyond mere availability. It means affordability, ease of use, and relevance, so that the tool works for law students, legal professionals, and individuals alike. The platform is designed to be faster, more intuitive, and more affordable than traditional legal research and document tools.

Our AI technology aligns with our philosophy because it transforms an often-opaque field—the law—into one where users are empowered, not sidelined. It places the human learner at the center, using AI as the bridge, not the replacement, for legal research and learning.
